About Us
Who We Are
Resident Run is a UK-based platform created to help leaseholders take control of their buildings through the Right to Manage (RTM). We provide clear guidance, tools, and resources so residents can understand the legal process, assess eligibility, organise an RTM company, and move towards better building management.
The platform was founded by a group of long-time leaseholders who built Resident Run after experiencing first-hand how difficult and confusing service charges, freeholder management, and maintenance decisions can be. The site is designed as an easy-to-use hub for anyone who wants better transparency, lower costs, and more control over their building.
Our Mission
We believe every leaseholder should have the knowledge and confidence to manage their building responsibly, sustainably, and fairly.
Resident Run exists to:
-
Make RTM understandable
by breaking down legal requirements in plain English.
-
Give leaseholders practical tools
like an eligibility checker, templates, guides, and step-by-step explainers.
-
Support residents in reducing costs
by empowering them to choose better contractors and improve budgeting.
-
Promote sustainable, long-term building management
through greener procurement, energy-efficient upgrades, and transparent decision-making.
-
Help communities build stronger governance
with accessible guidance on running an RTM company, AGMs, finances, and long-term maintenance plans.
Why Resident Run Was Created
Many leaseholders feel frustrated by high service charges, poor communication from managing agents, and a lack of transparency about where their money goes. RTM legislation provides a powerful solution — but the process can feel daunting without clear guidance.
Resident Run was created as a practical, resident-friendly alternative to expensive consultants or legal firms. We focus on:
-
clear explanations
-
real examples
-
easy tools
-
and resident-led empowerment
Our approach is deliberately neutral and non-commercial: the priority is helping leaseholders understand their rights and make informed choices.
Who We Help
Resident Run is designed for leaseholders in England and Wales who are considering:
-
taking over management of their building
-
reducing service charges
-
switching to more reliable contractors
-
improving sustainability and energy efficiency
-
increasing transparency in budgeting
-
building stronger resident governance
-
strengthening accountability around maintenance and repairs
Whether you’re early in your research or ready to start organising your RTM company, our resources support the entire journey.
What Makes Resident Run Different
1. Clarity and practicality
RTM is legally complex, but it doesn’t have to feel that way. We simplify every step while staying fully aligned with legislation.
2. Tools built specifically for leaseholders
Including our RTM Eligibility Checker, FAQs, templates, and educational guides.
3. Sustainability-focused guidance
We believe buildings should be run not just efficiently but responsibly — making greener decisions easier for residents.
4. Community over commercial interest
We do not act as a managing agent or sell add-on services. Our goal is to give residents the knowledge to manage their own building or choose the right partners.
